Four years after having been born in Chico CA. on January 27th 1983, the family decided to move
to Mexico for a year and fix our house. Once five years old I was enrolled into kindergarten, which is where
I became interested in drawing.
After my completion of kindergarten we moved back to Chico in which I was enrolled back to kindergarten
instead of first grade. My observing of friends drawing our favorit cartoons encouraged me even more to
draw. My creativity soon came into play when I began drawing our favorit cartoons in different positions and
angles.
While in elementary I was considered the artist of the class. In third grade I was exposed to a future friend
of mine, which at the time we had a rivalry due to our ability to draw. A year later in fourth grade our
teacher took notice of my artistic skills, and was soon asked to draw a picture of food for an invitation
of a dinner a Hispanic committee was having.
Three years later while in Junior High my art teacher quickly realized my "advanced" talent when it came to
drawing, so she decided to place me in the water color class. After a year of that she placed me in advanced
water color. As the year came close to an end she and the principle of the school decided to put an
application to the Califronia State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) in Valencia. After being accepted by
the CSSSA board and given a full scolarship I began doing art work for teachers and staff the remaining of
the year.
During the Summer of 1998 while attending CSSSA I attended four art classes during each week, which consisted
of: Acrylic painting, sculpting, figure drawing, and creative sculpting. Figure drawing allowed me to expand
my knowledge of drawing from real life. I learnedsome basic concepts I did not yet know. Acrylic painting and
the sculpting classes allowed me to experiment with different art mediums, and at the same time giving me a
better idea on what area of art I wanted to focus on.
While attending high school I was introduced to computer art, although at first I dispised it I now revolve my
life around it. A very close friend of mine is the one I give credit to for introducing me to the complexity
and greatness of digital art. During my last two years in high school I participated in a college connection
program and attended some digital art classes at CSU Chico.
Hving had the feel for college, I decided to attend CSU Chico after plans for my attending a tech. school in
Long Beach did not work out. Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to do something with art in my life. Now
I still have that same goal but have decided to focus more on the digital side of art, and am working an my
degree in multimedia; which involves various types of digital art.
